Visualization Experiences for Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality Devices
Theorem offers an out of the box Visualization Experience, or a tailored experience can be created.
The addition of Theorem’s Visualization Experience for AR/MR/VR represents a new product line, but builds on the long standing core knowledge of CAD and visualization formats that Theorem have developed over the past 25 years. These new technologies provide low cost and new ways to consume valuable CAD assets, which have been built up over many years. Theorem’s Visualization Experience liberates those assets and combined with the new low cost devices democratises the world of Augmented, Mixed and Virtual Reality.
Theorem’s Visualization application provides a consistent application for different types of devices: Tablets or mobile devices that have Android or Windows operating systems , Microsoft HoloLens for Mixed Reality, and for Virtual Reality we support the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.
The starting point is CAD and PLM data, and what we support for AR/MR/VR is what we have experience in supporting for our traditional products. We have supported different graphical applications, such as Siemens JT, PTC’s Creo View (originally Division) and Dassault’s 3DXML, which can be used in DMU and, in certain cases, traditional Virtual Reality environments (Caves and Power walls). In the world of CAD we support 3D Experience, CATIA, Creo, NX, Inventor and SolidWorks. So our track record in terms of the underpinning technologies and formats is long established.
What we do is take those CAD assets and using a fully automated process we prepare and optimise the data for the new devices and technologies. Once your CAD and PLM data has be processed and optimised it is then delivered to the Experience.
The data is streamed down to Theorem’s Visualization Experience application and is displayed on your chosen device. The experience enables you to see the data, manipulate the geometry, manipulate the product structure, explode the assembly or sub-assembly, dig in, hide and show components, so you can understand the detail of parts and sub-assemblies, move the positon of data, and in addition, access external metadata. You can change materials, textures and colours to support design decisions. It enables you to get an in depth spatial understanding, to establish form and fit enables manufacturing process layout, and aids in carrying out feasibility studies.
The result is your data on the new low cost devices, enabling you to improve product design and iterate quickly, saving time and reducing cost. Improve manufacturing processes and quickly determine feasibility, leading to time savings and better products.
Theorem can also tailor the visualization experience to a specific use case as part of our standard consultancy services.![]() |
