CATIA V5 and CATIA V6 Multi-CAD Plug-in's
The Multi-CAD brand focuses on enabling CATIA V5 and CATIA V6 users to work with foreign mechanical CAD or visualization data inside of CATIA without the need for external translation.
Theorem’s Multi-CAD application validates the integrity of the data as it comes into the design application whilst keeping an associative link back to the foreign data.
Using Multi-CAD offers a greater level of security and protection as the link to the source data is a direct link without the need to leave the application or use 3rd party external applications. This also removes any errors that can occur from potentially working with old, out of date data.
Theorem’s Multi-CAD application system is a low cost and efficient solution to the problems that can be encountered when a CATIA user needs to work on projects where other CAD or Visualization data needs to be regularly worked on inside of CATIA. Multi-CAD ensures the integrity of the CAD data.
Multi-CAD products are different to CADverter, Visualize 3D and Publish 3D brand products as they enable a user to work interactively with non-native CAD and Visualization data with in a live design environment without the need for external translation.
Multi-CAD products support the introduction of assembly structure, geometry, attributes, 3D Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) (FTA) (GD&T) and Metadata from foreign CAD and Visualization data with additional support for the processing of Model Based Definition (MBD) information from native CAD.
When developing large and complex products such as cars or aeroplanes, designers can be faced with the need to use numerous CAD systems in-house, on a single product design and manufacturing task.
Theorem’s Multi-CAD solution allows designers and engineers working in CATIA V5 or CATIA V6 to incorporate parts and assemblies from the other CAD systems, such as NX, Creo, and JT data within the CATIA environment without having to use external translators. It does so by loading the files directly into CATIA and using the existing CATIA commands of “Insert existing component”, “file open” and “file save as”.
Multi-CAD maintains associativity which empowers CATIA users to automatically update their CATIA design with changes authored in the foreign CAD system. Multi-CAD then tracks changes and updates the master model.
