Theorem have released V22.1 of their NX to CATIA V5 Multi-CAD solution from the Translate range of products.
Integrated within the CATIA V5 application, V22.1 supports from CATIA V5-6R2016 up to and including CATIA V5-6R2019, along with NX 11.0, 12.0 and 1847, providing the user with the highest levels of interoperability.
This NX to CATIA V5 Multi-CAD product is a uni-directional product designed to import NX data into CATIA but can be packaged with the CATIA V5 Multi-CAD to NX product to become a bi-directional solution.
Theorem’s NX to CATIA V5 Multi-CAD product is based upon the Dassault Systemes XCAD infrastructure, allowing CATIA V5 users to incorporate parts and assemblies from NX, directly within the CATIA environment and removing the need for external translators. The application checks geometry for errors and validates the integrity of the data as it comes into CATIA. The beauty of the solution is the interlinking of the CATIA V5 data and non-native NX data.
These are enhancements to the PMI that enable the user to map content they have in the source system, to the correct corresponding entity in the target system.
V22.1 supports CATIA exact geometry data and NX BREP geometry. This allows the data to be used in a design context and supports complex solids, surfaces and curves with a high accuracy. It also supports the creation of CATIA and NX tessellated data. By creating the lightweight tessellated form users can create reference parts to a high degree of accuracy, and the process is quicker, producing a smaller output file size which is good for data exchange requirements.
Support for the incorporation of NX data with model views/PMI to CATIA data with capture views/FTA allows those who are using paperless engineering to share designs with suppliers and partners.
Theorem’s Multi-CAD application system is a low cost and efficient solution to the problems that can be encountered when different CAD systems collaborate on projects and ensures the integrity of the CAD data whilst allowing the seamless sharing of files between users.
Theorem’s strategic partnerships with Dassault Systemes and Siemens ensures that there is a parallel development between the latest releases of CATIA V5, NX and Theorem’s Multi-CAD products, allowing Theorem to continue to provide data solutions for the CATIA and NX communities.
