By the way, an anagram for Delaware is Dewar Ale, which I make myself.
Local cyclists from around Dover, regularly meet several times each week bicycling over Delaware's & Maryland's scenic, yet relatively flat countryside. These loops are fairly flat (as is much of Delaware) between 20 (32k) and 40 (65k) miles. Each ride has it's own character.
If you have a Delaware ride you'd like to present here please email me at mjl @ theorem.com.

This ride starts from the back of the Lifestyles Fitness Center in Dover on South Governors Avenue at the corner of S. Govenors and South Street. The gathering point is parking lot behind the fitness center along South Street. See the large area map or the more detailed map to get your bearings.

The ride starts at 9AM so be there sooner (about fifteen minutes) to get your bike and gear ready.
The particular loop is determined by wind direction as gauged by an unusually unreliable windsock. Rides vary from 20 to 30 miles (30 to 50k). This is usually between 16 to 20 mph (26 to 32kph) depending on wind strength. You will not be left behind. If you go off the front be aware the ride is often made up as we go so look back a lot or carry a map.
In the winter the pace is lower - 16 mph (26kph) and the distance is usually less than thirty miles (fifty kilometers) which takes just less than two hours.
Helmets are required and your bicycle must be in safe mechanical condition.
A White Clay Bicycle Club ride starts from Wyoming Park in Wyoming, DE. All are welcome, members or not. This ride departs at 5:15 PM on Tuesday from the Wyoming Park parking lot. Distance is approximately 25 to 30 miles (40 to 50 km) at 17 to 20 mph (27 to 32 kph).
Wyoming is south of Dover. Turn on Rt 10 West to Camden, left at the end of the road which is Rt 15. Turn right on 3rd St. next to Hall's Diner. There's a small sign for Wyoming Park, but it's easy to miss. The parking lot is at the end of 3rd St.
