Data Migration - CAD/PLM
For all organizations who have used CAD systems for many years the need to migrate legacy data to a newer system will eventually arise. This requirement may involve the need to move both Bill of Materials and CAD data, or may be executed as two separate projects. Whilst the CAD data will be held in a legacy CAD repository the BOM data may be in a variety of forms: Excel spreadsheets, Proprietary databases or a legacy PDM system.
Having to maintain expensive hardware and software that is no longer supported by the vendors or to maintain old proprietary databases in order that your data can be accessed isn't cost effective.
Moving to the next generation of design and PLM solutions is the logical move forward, but how do you get your legacy data into new systems? The risks of not migrating and then having to write off years of legacy data and start again is not an option even setting aside the legal implications of lost data. So the basic options come down to:
Spend a large proportion of your budget and resource reworking old systems or data?
Attempt to migrate the data using your own resources.
Use Theorem to migrate your legacy data to the new system of choice?
Theorem's tailored and automated legacy migration solutions can be run on or off site as a service, enabling you to seamlessly carry forward legacy data to your new system. In addition it will be done cost effectively and by experts in the process of moving legacy data.
